Pensioners will get benefitted from Aadhar in this way

In banks, we mostly see old people dragging their tired legs from table to table in order to receive the service they are looking for. We are already aware of the behavior of some bank employees who are not so very cooperative with senior citizens.

The Union Government has digitized most of its services including banking service, digitization of several banking services was a relief for senior citizens as they could get information right from the comfort of their homes. It also gave them a certain kind of independence as they were not dependent on their family and relatives for help related to bank issues.

Aadhar was encapsulated with digitization and it revolutionized the banking sector. Aadhar is now more than an identity proof for Indian citizens. Queues have disappeared and it has made all the related processes seamless.

Pensioners don’t have to appear at the Bank

India is becoming pre-eminent country in use of technology to improve citizens lives, some stats are: Over ₹24.8 lakh cr transferred through DBT since 2013, ₹6.3 lakh cr in FY21-22 itself. On avg >90 lakh DBT payments processed daily in FY21-22.

In a tweet, the Ministry of Electronics and IT announced that PF and pension will be directly credited to the beneficiary account without the need for them to physically go to the bank and present their life certificate. Here is the tweet:

According to the UIDAI website, “Use of Aadhaar as an identity document enables beneficiaries to get their entitlements directly in a convenient and seamless manner by obviating the need to produce multiple documents to prove one’s identity.

Following are the benefits of Aadhar for pensioners:

Easy PF disbursement

By integrating your Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) account with Aadhaar, the claims settlement procedure can be expedited. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has taken a number of steps in this regard (EPFO). According to the EPFO’s unified portal, linking your UAN and Aadhaar is required if you want to make an online EPF claim.

Timely pension payouts

Linking your Aadhaar to your Pension Account would make it simpler for government personnel to verify all of your information, even though it is not required. You have the option of linking your Aadhaar online or offline to your pension account.

Quick digital life certificate

In order to keep their pension, pension beneficiaries must annually give a life certificate to the pension disbursing authorities. However, submitting a digital life certificate (DLC) online is now available thanks to the Aadhaar-based Jeevan Praman service. This is a biometric-enabled digital service for retirees of the state or federal governments.
