I am using Paytm First Credit Card since the year 2019, the Paytm First Card was issued by Citibank. In May 2019, Citibank and Paytm launched their Co-branded Paytm First Credit Card.
This card is issued in the Visa category, generally, every credit comes in two categories which are Visa and Maestro but this card comes in the Visa category only. The card is accepted worldwide.
Below are the detailed features and benefits of the Paytm First Credit Card:
You will get Rs.1,000 cashback as a statement credit if you spend Rs.5,000 or more within 30 days from the date of card issuance. Cashback will be credited to your Paytm Credit Card account within 90 days from the date of transaction.
Cashback on Paytm First Credit Card
Earlier there was cashback @ 1% on the amount spent, there was no restriction regarding the category to spend or any minimum value. But now Citi bank has issued new terms and conditions, as per which the cashback on all spend done using Paytm First Credit Card will be given as below:
- Spends on Paytm mall- 5%
- Flight bookings on Paytm- 2%
- Other spend on Paytm app and website- 3% (No cashback on transactions less than Rs 50)
- Spends on Platform other than Paytm – 1% (No cashback on transactions less than Rs 50)
- No cashback on fuel and wallet load transactions
All other terms will remain the same such as no maximum cap on the amount of cash back earned on Paytm First Credit Card and no redemption fee. The disadvantage of the card is that you don’t receive any bonus points on achieving the spending milestone while this feature is available in most of the cards.
Cashback accumulated will be reflecting in the statement at the time of statement generation. This will be posted to the customer account on the next working day after the statement is generated. Illustrative example on cashback earn:
For a Paytm First Card with statement cycle on 10th of each month, card statement is generated on 10th July for spends between 11th Jun to 10th Jul consisting of below transactions:

Free Movie Ticket
Get 2 movie tickets for the price of 1 ticket exclusively on Paytm App and website. You have to use the promo code “CITIFRIDAYS” while buying the ticket using Paytm First Credit Card on Paytm.
The maximum discount is capped at Rs 300. The important thing to know is that the day of booking the ticket should be of Friday only, however, the movie show day can be any of the 7 days of the week.
Paytm First Credit Card Fee
The Joining fee is Rs 499 + GST. Which will be levied within 90 days of the card issuance date. Even if your card is inactive, the joining fee will be levied. There is an annual fee of Rs 499+ GST.
If you have spent Rs 100,000 or more in a membership year on your Paytm First Card then your annual fee is waived off.
Note: For cards issued before 01st Apr 2021, the annual fee is waived off on spends of Rs 50,000 or more in a membership year till 31st March 2022. From 01st Apr 2022, the annual fee will be waived off on spends of Rs.1,00,000 or more on your card in a membership year.
The Paytm First Card offers low interest rate on Equated Monthly Installment (EMI options).
Eligibility Criteria to get Paytm First Credit Card
As of now, there are no eligibility criteria given by Citi bank or Paytm regarding the Paytm First Credit Card. However, as per the available data, it can be said that Paytm is offering this card only to the users who are having a good relationship with Paytm and are doing regular transactions on Paytm.
Initially, they are giving the credit limit of Rs 60,000 only. Applications are open to selected Paytm customers for now. Check your Paytm App to know more!
How to apply for the Paytm First Credit Card
The Paytm First Card can be applied by login in Paytm app. To apply, Simply time Paytm First Credit Card in the search bar, You’ll get the message as “Thanks for your interest in Paytm First Card. We will notify you shortly”.
